Counseling & Coaching
for Moms of Teens
You’re a Mom of a Teenager, and Everyone Keeps Telling You that the Chaos is Normal.
But something feels off to you. You feel anxious, overwhelmed, mentally paralyzed, and stretched thin.
You find yourself wondering:
Why do I feel like I’m walking on eggshells around my teenager?
How do I balance parenting, work, and everything else without losing myself?
Why does it feel impossible to connect with my teen?
Why are there so many arguments over the simplest things?
Why do I feel guilty for wanting a break?
Why do other moms seem to have it together, and I’m just barely hanging on?
Will this phase ever get easier?
Counseling or Coaching Can Help
In spite of what society likes to tell us about how awful these teen years are going to be, parenting a teenager can actually be a rewarding and even enjoyable journey. But it can also feel overwhelming and isolating. Maybe you had a different picture in your head about what these years would look like. Counseling or Coaching might be just what you need! It can give you insights, strategies, and tools to navigate the complexities of raising a teenager while also taking care of yourself.
Counseling is the right place to start if:
You struggle to manage your own anxiety and overwhelm while also trying to help your teen manage his/hers.
You find yourself walking on eggshells because you avoid all conflict or confrontation.
You struggle with setting boundaries and sticking to them.
You want to ditch old patterns and heal old trauma so that these things have less impact on the way you parent.
You understand that taking the time to work on your own mental health will allow you to be the parent you want to be.
***Please Note: Counseling is only available to clients who reside in Colorado
Coaching is a good fit for you if:
You feel comfortable with your own mental health, but you want to focus on improving your parenting skills.
You want to better understand adolescent development and the teenage brain.
You want to model and teach good emotional regulation so that your teen can learn to navigate the ups and downs of their moods.
You want to improve the communication skills of both you and your teen.
You want to engage in conflict with your teen in healthy and productive ways.
You want to build trust and connection to strengthen your relationship with your teen.
Unlike counseling which is limited to residents of CO, coaching is available to clients located throughout the US or anywhere in the world.
