Support for Women 50+

Who Want More Than “Fine.”

You’ve handled a lot in your life. Divorce. Raising kids. Caring for parents. Holding everything together.

You don’t need affirmations. You need support that actually works.

Does This Sound Familiar?

  • You’re divorced or redefining life after a long relationship—and it’s heavier than you thought it would be.

  • Your kids don’t need you in the same way anymore, and the quiet feels unsettling.

  • You’re burned out from years of being capable, responsible, and dependable.

  • You’re worried about aging parents while trying not to think too hard about your own future.

  • You look “fine” on the outside but feel tense, irritable, or exhausted underneath it all.

  • You can’t quite name what’s wrong—just that something feels off.

Venting to your friends about all of this feels great, but if you’re ready to do more than just vent, let’s chat.

For many women, anxiety doesn’t show up as panic attacks or constant fear.

It looks like:

  • Overthinking everything

  • Trouble sleeping

  • A short fuse

  • Feeling emotionally flat or disconnected

  • A low-level sense of unease that won’t go away

Your system has been running in “handle it” mode for decades. Eventually, it demands attention.

I know you don’t have time to waste on venting or complaining.

So what will we actually accomplish in your sessions?

  • Tackle your Anxiety Head-On

Coping skills are great. But you also need a deep understanding how your nervous system reacts, and what to do about it without forcing positivity.

  • Set Boundaries Like You Mean It

You’ve spent years putting others first. Let’s make space for what you need, without guilt.

  • Ditch the Old Patterns

Perfectionism, people-pleasing, overfunctioning — these served you once, but now they hold you back. We’ll help you create new habits that actually work.

What Can Therapy Do For You?

After working together, clients can expect to:

  • Feel calmer and less reactive

  • Sleep better

  • Trust their own decisions again

  • Stop second-guessing themselves

  • Feel more grounded—even when life stays complicated” mode for decades. Eventually, it demands attention.

The goal isn’t to “fix” you.
It’s to help you live with more clarity, confidence, and ease.

Hi, I’m Cheryl Somers, LPC

Therapist, Parent Coach, Mom

I understand these struggles because I’ve been there myself, and I’ve helped women just like you make sense of the “messy middle” part of life — the years when we’re getting older but we’re definitely not old! Everything feels harder — perimenopause symptoms are wreaking havoc on our bodies, our teenagers/young adult kids are driving us crazy, work doesn’t feel as meaningful as it did before, and now our parents are starting to need our help. But you don’t have to go through this alone.

I specialize in helping women just like you get your anxiety in check, set better boundaries with your kids (and also your parents!), and break free from patterns of perfectionism and people-pleasing that may have started in childhood. Together, we will work on building confidence, shaking off the self-doubt, and creating a life that feels more authentic and fulfilling.

Therapy should feel like a conversation with someone who truly gets it—someone who listens without judgment but also helps you figure out what’s next. I bring not only my training as a therapist but also my lived experience as a Gen X woman myself and a mom of two young adult daughters. I know that life is complicated, and you’re here because you want tools and strategies to navigate it—not just to talk about it.

Whether you're struggling with unmanaged anxiety, family expectations, relationships that aren’t working, parenting, caring for aging parents or just the overwhelm of life, I can offer you an unbiased, outside perspective and practical strategies to help you move forward with more purpose and more confidence.

Our work together isn’t just about venting or going in circles—we’ll focus on real solutions. While processing emotions and understanding your past is important, I also want you to walk away from each session with practical tools and a clearer path forward. Whether it’s tackling anxiety, handling difficult conversations and setting boundaries with your loved ones, or making decisions that align with your values, my goal is to help you take meaningful steps toward the life you want.
