You couldn’t wait to finish high school and start your new life, but now something feels off.
You find yourself wondering:
Why am I feeling so lost and anxious?
When did life stop being fun?
Why is it so hard to make friends?
Why are my parents still trying to control me?
What should I do if I’ve outgrown my high school relationship?
How will I ever manage all of this stress?
Is this all there is? I expected it to feel different.

Hi, I’m Cheryl Somers
Therapist, Parent Coach, Mom
I specialize in helping women ages 18-25 get their anxiety in check, set better boundaries with parents & friends, and break free from patterns of perfectionism and people-pleasing that may have started in childhood. Together, we will work on building confidence, shaking off the self-doubt, and creating a life that feels more authentic and fulfilling.
As the mom of two 20-somethings of my own, I’ve seen up close the challenges that come with this stage of life. And I know you might be thinking “you’re my mom’s age” — but I promise therapy is more than just a typical conversation with your mom. When we work together, there’s no agenda, no judgment, no expectations for what your life should be — just a safe space to explore what you need.
Whether you're struggling with family expectations, friendships, or just the overwhelm of adulting for the first time, I can offer you an unbiased, outside perspective and practical strategies to help you move forward with more purpose and more confidence.
Our work together isn’t just about venting or going in circles—we’ll focus on real solutions. While processing emotions and understanding your past is important, I also want you to walk away from each session with practical tools and a clearer path forward. Whether it’s tackling anxiety, handling difficult conversations and setting boundaries with your parents, or making decisions that align with your values, my goal is to help you take meaningful steps toward the life you want.
What To Expect:
Counseling is more than just talking and venting. To make meaningful changes in your life, we will explore…
-
The Present
How is your anxiety or stress affecting your daily life and relationships? What are your default responses to stress, conflict or making decisions? What’s working for you and what is holding you back?
-
The Past
How did you learn these patterns? What were you taught about conflict? What experiences in your life have shaped the way you relate to others or respond to stress?
-
The Future
This is the fun part! How do you want things to be different? Let’s practice new skills, create new patterns and create a life you are excited about!
